Half day trip to Postojna cave and Predjama castle

This half day trip from Ljubljana to Postojna cave and further to Predjama castle will take you around 6 hours including the drive.

After almost one hour of driving you will get to Postojna cave, where our friendly and English speaking driver will happily assist you with the entrance.

You will enter the cave with local tour guide (beside offered guidance in Slovenian, Italian, English and German they also offer you 17 audio guides) and start your journey with a 3.7km fun ride on a underground train. In the cave you will see magnificent cave formations which are home of famous baby dragons (human fish or proteus).

IMPORTANT: Temperature in the cave is constant of 9-11 degrees Celsius (around 50 fahrenheits), so take some jacket with you!

After visiting the cave there will be a 10km ride to Predjama castle, which is more than 800 years old,, largest cave castle standing in the middle of 123-metre-high cliff.

You can extend your half day trip to Postojna cave to a full day trip by adding visit of the coastal area – Piran or Portorož. Postojna cave is almost on the half way from Ljubljana to Piran/Portorož.
